SUMP Integrating Tourist Mobility – SUMP Watch

The existing SUMP addresses partially the city’s and its visitors’ needs. The upgraded SUMP for the Greater Rethymno area will integrate both tourist and citizens’ needs through participative decision making. It will take into account the seasonal fluctuations of tourists, their impact on the transport infrastructure, the inter-regional mobility and the public transport services within the prefecture area and will put the strategic approach for the demonstration measures aiming to enhance economic growth, job creation and environmental sustainability.
